SSL certificates for Pagecloud domains

Pagecloud provides SSL certificates for connected custom domains. SSL enables https and helps protect information sent between a visitor and your site.

SSL setup differs slightly for AI Sites and classic Pagecloud sites.

SSL on an AI Site

Pagecloud starts issuing SSL after you add a domain and its required DNS records become visible. You do not need to turn SSL on separately.

Open the site’s Project dashboard, then Custom domain. Review both the root and www hostnames:

  • DNS connected: The routing record points to the AI Site.
  • SSL active: The certificate for that hostname is ready.
  • DNS pending: Pagecloud cannot see the expected routing record.
  • SSL issuing or SSL pending: The certificate is not ready yet.

Some CNAME verification records are unique to your domain. Copy every record displayed on the page. If you remove and add the domain again, review the displayed records again because verification values can change.

SSL on a classic Pagecloud site

SSL is normally enabled when a classic custom domain connects. Open Domain setup and review the SSL control and connection status.

Both the root and www versions must point to the classic Pagecloud records before the certificate can cover both addresses.

How long does SSL take?

Certificates are often ready soon after DNS connects, but DNS and SSL updates can take up to 48 hours.

Before waiting, confirm:

  • You used instructions for the correct site type.
  • The root and www records are both present.
  • There are no conflicting website records.
  • AI Site verification records match the current Domain setup page exactly.
  • The domain does not use unsupported DNS forwarding or masking.

What should I do if SSL stays pending?

Follow Fix SSL certificate errors. If every record is correct and SSL is still pending after 48 hours, contact Pagecloud support with the domain name and screenshots of the DNS records and Pagecloud status.
