Connect a Cloudflare domain to Pagecloud

Use this guide when Cloudflare manages your domain’s DNS. Pagecloud AI Sites and classic Pagecloud sites require different records.

You have an AI Site if your editor includes Ask Paige.

Before changing Cloudflare DNS

If Cloudflare does not manage your DNS yet:

  1. Create a Cloudflare account and add your domain.
  2. Choose a plan.
  3. Follow Cloudflare’s instructions to replace the nameservers at your domain registrar.
  4. Wait until Cloudflare confirms the nameservers are active.

Changing nameservers moves control of all DNS records to Cloudflare. Confirm important email and service records were imported before continuing.

Connect Cloudflare to an AI Site

  1. Publish the AI Site.
  2. From its project dashboard, select Domain.
  3. Enter the domain under Custom domain, then select Add domain.
  4. Keep the Pagecloud Domain setup page open.
  5. In Cloudflare, open the domain and select DNS, then Records.
  6. Copy every Type, Name, and Value displayed in Pagecloud.
  7. Set Pagecloud routing and verification records to DNS only while Pagecloud checks them.
  8. Remove conflicting A or CNAME records for the same @ or www name. Keep MX and other email records.
  9. If Cloudflare does not offer the displayed ANAME or ALIAS type, expand No ANAME/ALIAS support? Use A records instead in Pagecloud. Add every A and TXT record shown.
  10. Save the records, return to Pagecloud, and select Check status.

Do not use classic Pagecloud IP addresses or proxy2.pagecloud.com for an AI Site. The setup is complete when both hostnames show DNS connected and SSL active.

Connect Cloudflare to a classic site

  1. Publish the classic Pagecloud site and add the domain from Domain setup.
  2. In Cloudflare, open DNS, then Records.
  3. Add these records:

  1. Remove conflicting records for @ and www. Keep email records.
  2. Return to Pagecloud and select Test connection.
  3. Choose your Preferred URL after the domain connects.

DNS changes can take up to 48 hours. If the domain connects but https fails, follow Fix SSL certificate errors.
