Use SEO and analytics on an AI Site

AI Sites include site-wide SEO controls, page titles and descriptions, analytics, tracking integrations, and URL redirects. You can manage many of these by asking Paige.

How do I control search visibility?

Ask Paige to check the current site settings before changing them. You can then ask to:

  • Allow search engines to index the site
  • Discourage indexing for a private, staging, or coming-soon site
  • Enable or disable sitemap generation

When sitemap generation is on, Pagecloud creates sitemap.xml and references it from robots.txt.

Search visibility settings are requests to search engines, not guarantees. Search engines decide when to crawl, index, or remove a page.

Publish after changing search visibility or sitemap settings.

How do I update page search information?

Ask Paige to set the title and description for a named page. Use a unique title and description that accurately summarize that page.

As a general guide:

  • Keep titles under about 60 characters.
  • Keep descriptions under about 160 characters.
  • Use one clear visible page heading.
  • Describe images with useful alt text.
  • Use descriptive link text.

What analytics are available?

Open Project dashboard, then select Analytics to review visitor activity and page performance. When Agent chat is available for your account, you can ask questions about the analytics shown for your site.

Pagecloud Analytics is separate from third-party tracking. It uses a first-party session cookie. Review your consent and privacy requirements before asking Paige to enable it.

Which third-party tracking IDs can I add?

Paige can set, list, replace, or remove IDs for:

  • Google Analytics
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Facebook Pixel
  • X (Twitter) Pixel

Provide the exact ID from the service. Publish the site after making a change.

How do I add a redirect?

Tell Paige the old path, destination, and whether the redirect is permanent or temporary. For example:

Add a permanent redirect from old-services to services.

Use permanent redirects for addresses that moved for good. Use temporary redirects when the change is temporary.

AI Sites support wildcard redirects. A wildcard can redirect a group of old addresses while keeping the matching part of each address. Ask Paige to list current redirects before replacing a rule.

Do not create a redirect from a path that is still used by a page. Test the old address after publishing.
